Camps and classes
As the Learning Technologies Center Specialist, I managed 18 instructors, 8 teen instructors, hired and trained instructors on new technology, was in charge of 5 computer labs and all the equipment and programs needed to run fee based camps. I developed new camp lessons and prototyped new education tools. I initiated a monthly professional development workshop for instructors that allowed them to develop new camp ideas and be rewarded for it.
Exhibit floor
The Science Museum of Minnesota is one of the leading exhibit developers of the nation. As a Specialist, I worked with the education, exhibit development, and fabrication departments in the design and prototyping of volunteer run table top and floor exhibits for the Engineering Studio grant. I was also an activity developer for the adult event Social Science, and produced a collection of activities that continue to be used on the exhibit floor beyond the adult events.
Making After Hours
Supported by the Science Museum of Minnesota, through the Learning Technologies Center, Making After Hours and making@smm was a monthly (18+) workshop series led by artists, and took place at local businesses, libraries, and universities. My role was in the development of the program, finding partners, funding, spaces, and artists. The program was successful in its two year run, and drew a16+ audience to the Science Museum of Minnesota.
